I am new to ODK and the company I am currently working in is planning to shift our process of data collection to ODK. I would just like to know if it is possible to return the submitted data to the android device after it has been sent? If for example, missing information were observed and you plan to revisit the site to capture the missing data without having to interview the household all over again. If yes, what's the process?

If you are talking about baseline and followup style campaigns where you have some time between the baseline and followup, preloading via CSV in ODK 1 tools (e.g., Collect, Build, Aggregate) is a good option. http://xlsform.org/#pre-loading-csv-data has some instructions for you to try.
If you need something more dynamic and real-time, ODK 2 tools do support bi-directional flow. The caveat is that they aren't as widely deployed. ODK 2.0 Tool Suite Release - v2.0.0 has details on the latest release.
