Jr.count not working for repeat questions

I have a form which has a repeat question, I want to limit the number
of repeats based on a previous question, for example, How many kids do
you have? I want the answer to that question to be used as the value
for jr:count in the repeat question, so that I can have that many
repeats of the repeat questions like Kid Name, Kid Gender and so on.
I also tried using the count(.) in the constraint of the xform and it
did not work.
Any help will be appreciated.

thanks,
Steven

hi steven,

i believe this is because of a bug in the version of javarosa-core we
use in the collect 1.1.5. this should be fixed in the next released
version of collect.

if you'd like it fixed sooner, you can replace the javarosa-core.jar
in your custom build of collect with the newest version from the
javarosa site and it should work just fine.

thanks yaw, not least for pointing out that it is a javarosa bug, not an
error on my side. i will try it out, thanks again.

Now that Collect 1.1.7 is out, can I just get some confirmation that this
bug was fixed?

hi steven,

we haven't had time to check. perhaps you can do some testing on this for us and let us know?

I checked out the latest code and replaced my current (v1.1.5)
javarosa-libraries jar with the one from the new code, and on testing
discovered that the problem still persists. jr:count (used together with
jr:noAddRemove) still does not work.

thanks for trying this out, steven. i've filed a bug at
http://code.google.com/p/opendatakit/issues/detail?id=247 and i'll be
following up with the dimagi folks to see if the problem is in the
core.
