Introduce yourself here!

Hello,
I am Godsway, a data analyst in Ghana , Specifically Ghana Health Service at the sun national level. First encounter with odk was when I am looking for a platform different from the Epi info platform because I needed multiple data submissions from different mobile users for a Hospital Ward audit tool.

Odk has since become my number choice when collecting data with mobile devices.

Hi All
My name is David, I have been using ODK for a couple of years and love the vibrancy of the community and the pace of development around ODK.
I live in the UK and have been working in technology for more years than I care to mention in various management roles; currently working as an IT director in the agriculture sector.
I help out with various causes and charities when I have time as well as doing a bit of cricket related stuff on the side.
Innovative uses of technology is a passion of mine which has drawn me to the ODK community!

Hello! I'm Marlena. I live in the Dominican Republic and use ODK with the non-profit I work with, Edify, to collect data about the schools we partner with. It's been an invaluable tool for us as we grow and standardize our measurement process. :star_struck:

Hi! I am Temitope from Nigeria.

I am a Social Scientist and have been using ODK since early 2015.

FUNFACT: A colleague showed me how to design a simple xls form on Microsoft Excel, and I could not think of any other extracurricular activity for more than a month. It was so much fun for me.

Pleased to meet everyone.

Hello everyone,

I live in Nairobi, Kenya and work with an organization called Ona. Ona is a social enterprise located in Kenya and Washington DC, and provides technological solutions to users.

My work at Ona involves providing support to users of the Ona platform in authoring XLSForms, recommending best practices of XLSForm authoring, and troubleshooting for issues encountered by users when using ODK Collect.

I learnt of the ODK Community in Nov of 2018 when I joined Ona and it has been of immense help in providing solutions to issues raised by clients.

I’m a fun of the outdoors. I love taking walks and going hiking. You will find me watching movies and listening to music I can dance to or sing along to whenever I’m indoors.

My name is Cornelius Murombedzi from Zimbabwe, currently based in the UK. I am a development practitioner and once in a while do research. Had of ODK about 3 years ago but have literally been afraid to explore it. Have decided to take the leap to set up ODK to start using it to collect data, analyse and generate reports. Will need support to effectively navigate all the corners and get it running.

Hi Nat here. I am from Perth Western Australia. I have been in mapping and spatial science for 20+ years and have worked with many softwares in this field. I am keen to see data collection and mapping in the hands of the many. Internationally there is tonnes of environmental and climate data available but the stories told with these data are still led by government and scientists. I would like to see communities making their own maps to show their own stories. I currently spend my holidays teaching students and Indigenous communities how to collect the data and make maps they are interested in. I am new to ODK and am interested to see if this software and process can help get mapping and data collection into community hands.

Hi all! I’m an epidemiologist and long-time ODK fan (though late to the forum). I’ve been using ODK since 2012 for a range of health surveys in Kenya, Nigeria, Chad, and Niger, and currently working on an Agriculture/Nutrition/Supply chain data collection tool for a project in Senegal. I’m currently Washington, DC-based as Chief Science Officer with an NGO that provides open sat/aerial and UV imagery (Radiant.Earth). Our goal is to provide low-friction access to remote sensing data and analytical tools for the development/humanitarian community. As our work is sector-agnostic (i.e., we work in Ag, Health, Conservation, Human Rights, Conservation, Climate Change, etc.), I am particularly interested in opportunities to collaborate on/develop/share groundtruth datasets and image libraries for machine learning. Lots of data silos to be bridged! [Here are some slides from a symposium and workshop we hosted in the Fall at IMED to give you an idea of some of the work we support]. Would love to hear and learn more from the community about research involving remote sensing data…Also really interested in qual and quant research methods and error measurement.

Am otherwise shooting photos, in the kitchen baking, or brewing up a storm. Glad to be here!
