yes I have put my gradle repository properly according to the instructions
given in the read me file
according to thst I have created an ODK folder and then made repo of google
play services and gradle config and collect app and then I have imported
the collect/build.gradle file to the android studio

We recently had somebody running into this same error. I don't use Android
Studio and English is his second language, so I can't explain anything
beyond what he said about the solution:
"If you're interested, there the line "commandLine 'git', 'rev-parse',
'--short', 'HEAD'" in runnables.gradle file of the gradle-config repo. It
uses the git to get the SHA1 hash of the head branch for some reason. But
as the repos was just pulled there were no branches and it fired the error.
So I initialized the git and made initial commits for every repos and it
worked."
