The Madras Crocodile Bank Trust researching the behavior of king cobras

Founded in 1976 to protect imperiled crocodile species, the Madras Crocodile Bank Trust & Centre for Herpetology (MCBT) is a reptile zoo and research center in Tamil Nadu, India. MCBT’s mission is to promote the conservation of reptiles and amphibians and their habitats through education, scientific research, and captive breeding.

With help from Google Earth and Open Data Kit, MCBT is researching the behavior of king cobras and sharing knowledge about them with local people so they can co-exist peacefully with the snakes.
